Help How Do I Add Home Screen Widgets?

Hi guys, just got my shiny new S3 today as have a basic question. To add widgets on my old HTC Desire S and X10 Mini Pro all I had to do was long press the screen and select "add widget". But with my samsung I long press the home screen and a menu pops up that says Add to home screen (which if pressed on leads to add apps, folder and page) and set wallpaper for home screen, lock screen and home and lock screen.

Tell me i'm missing something obvious please!

To elaborate, there is a tab at the top of the apps screen that says Widgets.
