Help How do I break free from Tab 4 music player stuck in shuffle mode?

Bob32

Lurker
My music player seems to be stuck in shuffle mode. It continues to play the songs it wants to play instead of the ones I select to play! I went to an individual song when it was playing and clicked on the shuffle icon located there. This put a slash through the shuffle icon. This action is supposed to deactivate the shuffle program, but it didn’t do so. I’m still stuck in the (censored) shuffle mode! Any help that will free from the bonds of the shuffle monster will be greatly appreciated.

Clear cache/data to your music app in your system settings.
Thanks for the response, but I need more detailed instructions on how to accomplish what you recommend. I couldn’t find anything regarding cache/data to my music app in my system settings.

Go to settings>>> apps>>>all>>>Then find the music app,Then tap on it.Then tap clear cache,Then tap on clear data.

When I click on Settings I don’t see Apps appear. What pops up instead is a window with four categories listed at the top. From left to right they are Connections, Device, Controls, and General.

If I tap directly on the Music app no Clear Cache appears. What appears instead is a window with five categories listed at the top. From left to right they are Playlists, Tracks, Albums, Artists, and Folders.

Your system appears to be much different than mine!

I don't know what phone you have,And I know that I don't own the one you have because of the difference in the settings menu.
Tap on General and look for apps/applications >>>all>>>Then find the music app,Then tap on it.Then tap clear cache,Then tap on clear data.

No, someone set your settings to tab mode, and that can be changed from the menu button.
The Application manager is in the "General" tab.

I don’t have a phone. What I have is a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 tablet. I clicked Settings>General, and the only thing relative to applications that showed up was Applications manager which I clicked. The list of 26 items under Application manager does not include the Music app.

You need to change from the "Downloaded" column to the "All" column in "Application manager".
There will be a LOT more than 26 items.

Since my last reply I have continued fiddling with the Tab 4, and it now appears to be playing music properly. I’m not certain what the problem was, but I hope that the beast, which has been acting strangely lately, is finally under control. Thanks for your efforts to help resolve this issue.

Thanks for the info. You are correct. I had to swipe to make visible the All column, which includes the Music app which I have not had to deal with after all per my latest reply to the other man attempting to assist in the solution of this issue. At least this situation has given me the opportunity to learn more about my Tab 4 which I haven’t used at much as I thought I would. Most of my time playing music is spent on iTunes on my iMac.
