Help How do I create a shortcut on my PC to a folder on my phone?

I would like to create a shortcut to my pictures folder, but I want the shortcut to be on my PC, so I don't have to dig through all the layers of folders inside my phone, every time I want to copy some pictures from/to my PC.
I tried to google an answer several times, but all I can find is instructions on how to create a shortcut *within* my phone. That's not what I want.

To clarify:
Location of shortcut = PC
Location of folder = Phone
Function of shortcut (which *must* be located on the PC) = to open a folder that is located on my phone.

I tried to do it the old-fashioned way, by connecting my phone to my PC, right clicking the folder in windows explorer, and... oh wait, the "create shortcut" option isn't there!

Is there a way to make this work?

I think this is not possible - at least not literally as a desktop shortcut onto which you could drag/drop files and they appear in the phone.

Partly this is because you would need to somehow set up the phone so that it automatically connects via WIFI when in range, etc. Also, on my PC (winXP) no Samsung device creates a block device with a drive letter so that rules out shortcut creation. There may be a way using the Windows share notation i.e. \\device-name\share-name which is sometimes used to mount network drives, but I doubt it because the phone does not appear as a Windows network device (netbios networking); instead it appears as a media device or similar.

Airdroid is one of several wifi file transfer apps.

I use WIFI Transfer Pro, and SyncMe.

WIFI Transfer Pro requires a web browser (set to http://192.168.1.50:1234 or something similar, according to how the DHCP is configured in your WIFI router) to be run on the PC (Chrome, if you want to transfer whole directory trees, otherwise Firefox works too) so it does not create a logical drive with a drive letter (like say a USB stick does). I don't believe the phone is visible other than via a web browser. I have just spent some time on it, starting WIFI Transfer Pro and trying to access the phone via its IP in various ways e.g. ftp://192.168.... but nothing works, with Windows Explorer, WS-FTP, etc.

SyncMe contains Samba (a Windows networking driver for unix) and performs file transfer directly to/from directories on your PC. Again, no drive letter... but it is very slick. I use this to copy photos to my PC i.e. all of emulated/0/DCIM/Camera gets copied to c:\s6. I think this might get quite close to what you want because you can e.g. create a directory called c:\s6, make a desktop shortcut to that, drag/drop your files into that, and then with one click start SyncMe and with one more click run a predefined copy task to copy files to the phone.

Or, you could use google photos or dropbox (or similar) to automaticallysync your pics to a cloud account - then accessible from any connected device..

Does any android (or IOS) dropbox client automatically download files?

I think only the PC clients do that.

Auto sync on dropbox is potentially a massive mobile data allowance killer.

Also, file transfers to/from the phone come out of your ADSL data allowance, which may be big (50GB here for example) but not infinite... plus the transfer will be limited by internet speed - VERY slow for photos, never mind movies.

I think SyncMe is the best solution for the OP.
