How do I create a theme for a Home app?

Hey I wanted to find out how would I create a Home theme for one of the Home apps like; aHome, Home++, Open Home, etc... If I was to unpackage one meaning change the apk to a zip and unzip it, How would I put that zip file back to a APK file? if this is the right way of doing a theme. Can someone help me or direct me? thanks.
