How do I disable the Google updates in my status bar?

At least once or twice a day I get a news update from Google. Any time I drive by a store, restaurant, or any type of business I'll get a notification asking me to rate it or take pictures or whatever. Sometimes I'll get ETA to home and whatnot. Is there any way to completely disable this?

Not knowing what phone you have this might not apply as different manufacturers and carriers have different modifications to user interfaces but try going into your App menu, open up the Google app, tap on the hamburger menu in the upper left, open Settings, then Notifications which on my phone also includes a 'Your feed' option with various options to enable/disable.

I have an LG Stylo 2 plus. I only use Wifi when at home, this problem occurs when I'm away from home and using LTE

Thanks, that worked. For some reason I had went that route before and disabled the things I didn't want to see but it reverted back somehow.
