how do I download apps?

What device are you on? Doesn't really matter the basic procedure.

1. Click the "app drawer", or the "all apps" menu (If on HTC, on the main screen, an arrow symbol pointing upwards on the low-left corner
2. Scroll & find "Market"
3. Click market
4. Find an app that's interesting
5. For example, search with "planet"
6. Click one of the apps that come up
7. If the app you have chosen is free, then there is a button on your right that says "free".
8. Press the "free" button, it should turn to "install"
9. Press install (you should see a message; your app will be downloaded or something like that)
10. Wait for the app to load (If on HTC, drag down the main top-bar to see it's proggress
11. When ready, repeat steps 1 and 2, searching for your new app

Hope this helps some!

Most android phones (or at least the ones I've bought and friends have bought) don't come with a manual.

If anyone's interested though the manual for the latest version of android 2.2.1 (probably the most common version at the moment) is available here:

Android 2.2.1 User Guide

Hope this helps!

I have an epad too. I am having some weird issues as well. No matter what app I attempt to download it says that I am putting my system at risk unless I download an "android sourced" app.

Speaking of apps...the biggest trouble I have is with the youtube app that was already on the epad when I got it. It has some kind of quirky error that requires me to "force close" the app when I start it. I have tried to use the browser but it says it cannot play mobile videos. So I downloaded and installed the youtube app, although it told me it was not an "android sourced" app, and it still had the same issues.

Can anyone help us??
