Help How do I edit an entry in my phonebook?

Hi - I have an LG G2 VS980 32GB 4G LTE Verizon Android.

This must sound silly. But I have a phone number in my phonebook that starts with 888 and I'd like to edit it in order to put a 1 in front of it. The phonebook lets me do many things, like make calls and send text messages. It lets me set a ringtone and a notification LED color. The settings let me refresh, delete, share, join, export, add to home screen and set all calls to voice mail. But I cannot see how to edit an entry. Or is that not what the phonebook is for?

Just view the contact itself (go to your contacts list and select that contact) then go into the settings (look for a 3 dot button) and select "edit".

Thank you. Unfortunately on this phone there is no edit option available from the settings menu.

But, that said, I had a recommendation from a friend to simply sync my phone book with google, and edit the entries there. So I think I'll try that.
