How do I enable T9 for Better Keyboard 8?

King1992

I have Better Keyboard 8 and this is what I did.

Settings > Language & Keyboard > Better Keyboard 8 settings > Keyboards & Layouts > Use T9 keyboard (checked the check mark box next to it with no other options checked)

Then I went to text a friend to see if it worked and the full keyboard was displayed. Wtf? Where did I go wrong? Please help!

Are you sure you're actually using Better Keyboard 8? If not, you need to longpress in a field to change the keyboard app.

I'm positive. I just double checked as well. I long pressed in a field and Better Keyboard 8 was the selected keyboard.

Ok I was able to get the T9 keyboard to show up by checking BOTH qwerty and T9... That's stupid but whatever. But now the suggestions for any word I input are ******ed. Like it says "Wgat" before "What" and "Gdjjm" before "Hello". It's just giving me the most commonly used letter of the keys I press and making up words that don't exist.
