How do I find out what apps are making sounds?

My phone makes some sounds that I don't recognise and I don't know which app(s) are making those sounds. I'd like to turn off most of them. Can someone tell me how to do this? Thank you!

Could be any number of apps.
Check each one in it's settings and check if notifications is on for each, choose wisely

Thank you. That's a long process with a lot of apps - but I think it's the only way to do it.
