How do I get apps on my phone?

Well my android is unlocked and I use it basically liike an ipod with no cell network. Just wifi and I don't have a credit card , so hhow could I get apps. Could you download them from the web browser on the device. I f so how would you do this. I have droid 2, if that helps.

Lots of apps are free. You can use the Market application on your phone.

You don't need a credit card to get free apps from the market, only a gmail account. I would be suspect of "freeware" websites. They tend to be infection vectors for malware. Even if you could download an installation file (.apk) you'd still need a file manager app to install it.
