How do I get my contacts from my Gmail on to my phone?

I deleted my contacts in my phone (don't ask all the details) but i was wondering how i can get my gmail contacts on to my phone.
 
Make sure your phone is signed in with your Google account and accounts and sync is set to sync Google contacts.

Deleted or cleared contacts storage? Deleting will sync to Gmail so check your contacts are actually in Gmail.
