How do I get my Lg Volt rooted

I have tried the towelroot. It worked up til about a month ago. So now I cant get it rooted. I have tried everything. Nothing will root it . I love when my cell is rooted. Can anyone help me out. Or am I the only one with the problem.

You will have to downgrade the firmware and root from there I believe. The lg volt section has tutorials on how to do it.

I recently purchased an LG Volt from Boost and found to my dismay that they now come with LS740ZV4 stock. So I cannot "downgrade" to V3 via a factory reset. I am still using my old phone at the moment (have not yet activated). What are my options for rooting the phone? Is an update planned for towelroot for compatibility with the new software version?

you can still downgrade to v3 from v4, look at the link i posted, lg's software is used to revert the phone back to a stock v3.

it can take a good few hours, and lots of reading, but it can be done, i did it last weekend to mine using that post, and the other posts it links to.

Yes, that's the rub. I'm a grad student. I don't have a free day or two to engage in any kind of in-depth study on this. If an upgrade to the towelroot software is expected at some point in the next few months, I'd rather just keep the phone in the closet and wait. It's not that I'm lazy, but given my enormous workload and precious little extra time, I prefer to use that time for more needful activities like...sleeping... It's just not an efficient use of my time to go through this kind of hassle when it's not a necessity to switch phones at the moment.
