Help How do I get rid of the dock?

[Android Question]

Recently a new feature appeared on my Samsung Galaxy S 5 phone. It is a dock that resides on the left (or right) side of the screen, with just a small tab showing. It can be used to launch favorite applications...

I have no use for this dock, and the small tab interferes with some app-specific activities...

It is running Android 4.4.4

I have tried every choice in Settings and have not found a way to make this "feature"disappear.

How can I get rid of it?
