How do I get websites to be "apps" on the homescreen witj Chrome. I read it was possible, but I can't seem to figure it out.

Do you mean you want to have web page bookmarks on your homescreen?

on your browser open your bookmarks and press and hold on a bookmark until a menu appears, then from the menu that appears choose the option to add to your home screen.

I hope I got it right, I don't have my phone with me now ((

it needs to be a normal bookmark first

then go into bookmarks and long press on it, should get an option to add to homescren

Unfortunately, when bookmarks are added to the home screen from chrome, they get crappy icons/favicons that stick out like sore thumbs.

But most bookmarks added via the stock jelly bean android browser DO display nice app style icons.
I actually installed purely for that.

You can download any .png file from the web and put it in your gallery, and replace any icon with it. These are all bookmarked shortcuts:

How do you replace an icon (without using launcher replacements)?

Sorry, I use GO Launcher. I "thought" all launchers let you long press and edit the icon. Maybe not.
