Help How do I press the star key when screen is blank?

Hi guys,
I'm an old person with a new phone and my kids aren't around to help.

When I'm on a call that asks me to press the star key or whatever, what do I do? The screen is blank, so I press the right button and that gives me the unlock screen, which I unlock with my pattern and by then the call is gone.

first of if you press right button you decline or end call thus this button is called the ''end button''... so you should press left button insted and it wont end your call but will give you oportunity to unlock your device during call... i hope i helped
