How do I promote my app?

Hi, I would really like to promote my app and would like to get some tips and advice. I would like to get food stores involved as this app would benefit them, but not sure how. The app is called List and shop

List and shop is a simple and intuitive app that allows you to save shopping lists. The unique feature is of a calendar where you can remind the app to send you notifications or alerts when you run out of an item and need to buy more of the product. I would be grateful for any advice, meanwhile here´s the link.

OK.. firstly well done.. congratulations... you've written and published an app.

That isn't a small achievement, and you deserve recognition for actually getting things done.


Now for the bad news...

There are a lot of apps like this already.

and there are a pile of questions you need to answer if you want to promote it to very large level.

If you are wanting to get stores involved, then what is the big benefit to them?
Most of the large retailers have their own online apps and services, for delivery and loyalty schemes.
They are unlikely to replace their apps with yours? Do you want them to? would using this app as a example of why they should hire you, be a better option?

what are the other apps you are competing with?
Alexa, Google Now, Siri and Cortana all offer this sort of thing as a basic function
Evernote, Google Keep, One Note, Microsoft Todo, Wanderlist are all advanced versions of what you are offering...

Now, I'm not saying this is impossible... But, given the large amount of competition, what is it about your app that means that people will want to use it instead of all of those.


(But don't give up.. even if this isn't the app that will be your first big success, its still can be the first step to the first app, that will be your first big success)

There are different ways to promote apps. Promote your app through Youtube. Use Adwords,

My shopping lists are really small though. Like 4 items. Usually different items depending on my mood.

Promote your app through Social Media posts, Google Ads, Youtube Ads etc...
