Help How do i put the sony xperia z5 into recovery mode?

i forgot my password and didnt have my google account linked to the phone. I know it sounds sketchy but i need help!!! Ive searched on various websites on how to put the phone into recovery mode but none of the methods seem to work. How do i put it into recovery mode? I need to restore the phone to facorty settings

Seems that Sony made it a little different than most.

Had the exact same problem. Downloaded Xperia Companion and selected the Repair option. After repair, when booting, it will ask you for a previously connected Google Account. Problem solved.
