Root How do I Root my Pandigital 7 ?

I recently purchased a Pandigital 7 e-reader (white). I have read that you can do what is called Rooting to it with the following results.

Are you sure it needs to be rooted? Pandigital has been selling the white model as the "eReader Tablet" for the last several months. If it mentions a tablet on the box they've done the rooting for you.

If you're not sure, the dead giveaway is the rooted models have this in the upper left hand corner:

If rooted will the pandigital 7" be able to read audio books, or is there a way to make that possible?

I have a Pandigital 7 and it came without Android Market and I've been battling for months to get it but you apparently have to have a root just to override the Market Google account and get it to accept your device but no rooting software has yet worked for me. Help!
