How do I see my Contacts

scotdeej

Lurker
newbie switcher to Android and struggling with the simplest function - making a call to a contact. When I look at the contacts list in the phone dialler it's just my Facebook contacts, not my contacts with actual telephone numbers! All my contacts are on my Google account as I've added a couple of apps (Handcent and Contacts+) to try and resolve and I can see the contacts and numbers in those apps (but contacts+ search is woeful and no alphabet bar on the side) but not in the contacts part of the phone dialler.

When I look at the Accounts & Sync within Settings I have auto sync data ticked and have my google account synced (all the options from calendar, chrome and contacts through to google reader).

I've tried switching the phone on and off and have used "Sony Bridge for Mac" which seemed to transfer all my text conversations, bookmarks, calendar entries but still no joy with anything other than facebook contacts.

If anyone can help I'd be really grateful cos it's tarnishing my android experience so far.

Thanks

Welcome to AF :hello:

I don't know if this helps but there is a setting under people (contacts) for what groups you can see. go to people (contacts) and press the menu button then press contacts to display select all contacts. That should show your google contacts.

Thanks for the advice, I went into settings and discovered in the filters section that it was excluding my google account contacts so that's it all sorted now.

Many thanks
