Turn off screen rotation is my first thought...
(Actually I've not turned it on for the last few years. The little pop-up button to manually rotate the screen that the last couple of Android versions have had is a better solution for me, so I see no need to ever turn auto-rotate on).
Some phones have the charge oort ina position that is not favorable for a phone stand in some positions- and the device setting only allows for two positions.
The app I mentioned not only allows you to lock the screen into any position, it also allows you to reverse that position.
My ol'lady has a 'candy' type game that is best played in the portrait mode.
But our devices have the charging ports in the bottom if the devices, making it impossible for her to play this game while the phone is plugged in and on the phone stand.
So I put that app on the device, and set it for reverse portrait.
This gives her the vertical screen, but upside down- and so the charge port is no on the top.
She just leaves the phone like this all the time.
What's funny is that she forgets all the time and tries to make and answer phone calls with the phone upside down.
What is not funny is the fact that any RF protection built into the device was not designed to be used in this position while the phone is in your hand or against the head.
