HOW DO i sync my gmail contacts to my phone.....

so i exported all my contacts through the app (exportcontact) to an CSV file, i saved them to my PC, then i uploaded them to my Gmail account.. everything went smooth and all my contacts showed up on my Gmail so i went ahead and deleted all my contacts on the phone..but now i cant seem to figure out how to get the contacts back on the phone... ive tried exporting file from Gmail and saved it, then tried to put it back onto my SD but i wont let me.(error msg, cant write onto disk~) can someone please help me? i need to take my phone to telus and have the stupid crackling speaker replaced. :mad:
 
Make sure you have the proper Gmail attached to the phone, go to your contact list, click your menu button, select settings, click synchronize data, google sync, and make sure contacts is selected.

i have the HTC hero and when i go to my contacts and hit the settings button all that comes up is import (google or phone) (tried both and neither did anything?) and a active sync button but it asks for my username and password so i put in my gmail. then it asks for a domain name... this is so dumb...
 
How do I synchronize my phone with my Google account services such as Gmail, Calendar and Contacts? From the Home screen press Menu > Settings > Data synchronization to see which Google services are available. Enable the services you would like to sync. You may also enable Auto-sync to automatically sync data or press Menu > Sync now to perform an immediate synchronization.

HTC Hero - How do I synchronize my phone with my Google account services such as Gmail, Calendar and Contacts?
 
Fwiw, same problem with me on my Eris. I've had it since January and to this day the contacts and calendar data in the phone do not match those in the Google calendar and contact area.

I've tried all the steps several times thinking "maybe this time it'll take," but it remains the same. I've even cleared everything out of both entities, but once again, no change when I re-enter data no matter which one I do first: the phone or Google on my computers.
