How do i take advantage of my rooted g1?

i have rooted my g1, using a guide i found in youtube. so i have the htc magic firmware eg. after doing it a rest it says welcome to htc magic not g1.

i have seen themes on the forums on rooted phones and other cool things you can do when you have root.

any help on how to do this? thanks in advance

For themes you'll want to check out home alternatives. I think dxtop, open home, and ahome are the three big ones. From there you can download themes designed for them.

the alternitave homes you are talking about run slower than a rooted themed phone. go to the xda developers sight and to to the theme section for the g1 (or magic) download the theme. Now all thats left is to move it to the sd card and rename it to "update". Make sure you do not unzip the file first. now when you turn the phone on hold power home then when the blank screen comes up press alt+L to view menu then alt+s. It will update and your new theme will be there. if you want to change the theme just do it again with a diffrent theme.
