i rooted my GS3 and tether with my MacBook Pro all the time.

just turn on mobile hotspot

Under "Wireless and Networks" select "tethering and portable hotspots".
Turn ON the Portable Wifi and touch it again to open settings. Down the screen is CONFIGURE. Setup network name and password. And that's pretty much it.
Im sending it from my macbook pro using tethering by my S3.

I've been grandfathered in on my unlimited data plan, i called in to use teathering and they said i need to drop my unlimited ($30/month) for the 6gb ($50/ month) if I want to tether.

Is this right?
