How do I uninstall default apps from my Samsung Dart?

I installed an advanced texting app but each time I get a message, I'll have to read it from both the default and the new app so that it clears from the notification swiping bar at the top.

I installed an advanced texting app but each time I get a message, I'll have to read it from both the default and the new app so that it clears from the notification swiping bar at the top.

Go into the original messaging application, go to Menu>Settings>Uncheck Notifications.
