Help How do I uninstall J-Trojan 25? Help.

Hi I stupidly tried to open a dubious website on my Samsung Galaxy S4 mini. Now when I go to the Chrome app, a page pops up called J-Trojan 25. It has a countdown clock set to a minute and says I have to click an uninstall button or the virus will damage the phone. At the moment I just power off the phone. How do I get rid of this?

Don't click the button - it's more likely that that would install malware than fix it. I doubt you really have a serious malware infection (especially not in a class which infects windows, which is completely different), more likely your chrome browser has been hijacked by something that's trying to panic you into installing something.

Simplest thing: try clearing the browser's cache, or the browser data. Hijacking of chrome has been a common issue lately. Look through this thread for info: http://androidforums.com/threads/android-chrome-redirection-virus-malware-adware.878655/. Sounds likely that's what you have here, though as I don't use Chrome I've not read all of that thread in detail.

Thanks a lot I will try that. How would I clear the cache on the phone if the Trojan page covers the whole screen? Where would I find out how to do that?

Can you try the solution from the first post of that linked thread: use a computer to delete the Chrome folder on your phone?

Doesn't the home or back button get you out of this? If not, you can force a shutdown by pulling the battery - if the problem is malicious code in the ad network then you should be able to use the phone as long as you don't launch Chrome again.
