Help How do I update my lg g2?

I have a lg g2 phone from verizon, but I can't seem to update it; everytime I try to do so, it says download unsuccessful.
My phone is not connected to the verizon network, it was cut by my parents because I used too much data, so they canceled my plan. Now it only works on wifi, but no data at all.
The update should work over wifi, but it is not working. Any ideas?

Your data is required because it needs to verify you're actually on Verizon. Either get your plan re-activated or root it.
