Accessories How do I use an old USB mouse and keyboard, and VGA monitor, with my Android?

I'd like to use an old USB mouse and keyboard, and VGA monitor, with my family's ZTE Max 2, or Moto G 1st 2d, or 3d gen, and the Nexus 4. I realize that USB OTB and MHL are helpful here, but I am not sure if I can actually connect all three peripherals at once.

Any tips on how to go about it?

I have a VGA to HDMI converter and an old USB hub. I can buy other connectors as needed.
