How Do They Compare?

I have been looking at Android set top boxes. I notice that they all use Rockchip, Allwinner, Amlogic. My question is how do they compare with Quailcomm, Nvidia, Arm? I can find very little putting these chips side by side? I am tired of waiting for a true Android Tv box that isn't locked down without hacking it?

Second which of the Rockchip, Amlogic, Allwinner would you recommend?

Well those chip brands are cheaper ones, and of course doesn't have the same performance as more recent ones from Samsung (Exynos), Nvidia or Qualcomm. They are more similar to older chips from them, but with updated drivers. The Tab 4 7.0 for example, uses a Rockchip CPU, and performs quite decently for daily driving, with the pitfall mostly on the graphics chip department, but it can play 3D games like Minion Rush (which is surprisingly demanding on Android) with no hitch.

Personally I'd check Rockchip more than the other brands since more reputable manufacturers (Samsung, LG, Lenovo) use them on their budget devices, but never heard of any big manufacturer using the other 2 you mentioned.
