How do they measure "videoplay time" for battery life and how can they be true?

I was looking at some phone specs, in which I've seen some amazing, unbelieveable battery life specs. Not just in one of them, but every single one of them. And that's the videoplay time spec.

From what I hear and read, I know that even 7-8 hours of just screen on time would be surprising to a normal user. But on the most phones, when you look at the videoplay time, they're way over than 8 hours.

In Samsung Galaxy S8 it claims to be able to play a video for 16 hours on one charge.
In Sony Xperia XZ Premium it says 11.3 hours of videoplay time.

Look at the inconsistency here. S8 has a bigger screen and a worse battery then Xperia but somehow it lasts more.

Now I don't know how they measure it, or who measures it but... That can't possibly be correct, can it? I mean even if you were in airplane mode, closed all the apps, played a 240p video that you have downloaded to your phone, how could it possibly last 16 hours?

Are these claims made by the manufacturers or is it just the people who put those specs on their sites? I'm just wondering how can there ever be a 16 hours of screen on time, especially while watching a video...

(The source I used was a site called epey.com - it's a Turkish site. But in case you want to take a look, here are the links to the specs :
