How do u do this?

Got a small ribbon cable for a Android phone how do I strip the plastic to solder the four metal prongs to the phone board I used a razor knife on a different one it pulled prongs out I just trying to strip the plastic any suggestions?

If you're talking about a flat cable, I'm not sure you can do that cleanly. The plastic is going to be much stronger than the conductors.

You could try scraping the plastic off to expose the conductor and using a small jumper wire something like this ...

Ok it's the small paper thin orangish colored cable on a phone circuit board I had an idea of filling a soda cap full of gas letting the cable soak and eat the plastic were I could use my fingers to strip the cable

A lot of modern plastics are resistant to solvents, and even if it did work, the conductors alone are very fragile and without the support of the cable, they'd most likely break. Is the cable connector on the phone board broken?

It doesn't have a ez tab connector where it holds it in place somehow the manufacturer soldered it I can't do it cause the top is still plastic also I'm using a different cable that will work it's just a bit skinnier off a different phone goes to volume and power buttons like that factory cable

I don't like sending people elsewhere but honestly this one needs a sparky. Even if it manages to work after, you kinda need to have an understanding of ohms law. If the phone works there's no saying it doesn't blow up your face the next time you answer it ;)

The one that came off the phone was connected the same way volume and power four prongs this one is actually a little smaller I can't even turn the phone on without a cable connected so I'd like to figure out a way to make this cable work if nothing else how'd I rig a power button im not worrying about the volume buttons any ideas?
