Help How do you change default apps?

Specifically, I would like to change my default word processor to be Microsoft Word. Is it possible to do this? If so, how? Thanks-

If you click a file it should ask you what app to use as default.

That's not happening. At least not with Word. Is there a setting I can use to change application defaults?

Settings - Apps - Settings - Default apps

Here in general we can change some default apps such as web browser, message… and so on.
But it is a pity that on my mobile, there is not any option for word processor.

I don't see an apps section when I pull up settings. Am I looking in the wrong place? I'm using an HP Chromebook 11.

Apps or Apps manager.

No wonder we're confused. You're not using an Android device. That's running Chrome OS.
