Help how do you delete "system" widgets?

Some Widgets(?) are considered "system" but are just wasting space. How do you remove it? i can`t just drag/edit it. I have rooted my phone, but these apparently are not apps. They seem to just be hyperlinks. Since they are Chinese(bought in Taiwan-I live here), and my Chinese sucks, so useless. I keep my phone internet off and only occasionally use Wifi. So doubly useless.

The phone is mostly English, but has a few Chinese icons.

This isn't a big deal-it just makes the phone "messy".

There are 5 I definitely want to delete. After that, maybe a few more. They are specific to phones in Taiwan(maybe also China, but they often have different media). Most of them have names that are half Chinese. One is called "matchApps".

The word "widget" seems to be the right label. They would be called icons on a desktop on a PC. As far as I can tell, they are just hyperlinks-they open my browser.

I can delete all the apps I've installed just fine, by holding them, and dragging them to the "remove" area. The "remove" area turns red for any icons that were already on the phone when I bought it. And, they don't go away.

You seem to be getting apps and widgets mixed up.
It’s hard from your posts to determine what these undeletable "hyperlinks" are.

If you go to Settings>Applications>Manage applications and click on the All tab at the top. Are any of them listed there? and if so can you uninstall?

Also a word of warning, be-careful what you delete as with root privileges it can be easy to delete something and mess your phone up.

Hi, I have this same problem, rooting didn't help as they don't appear in the app list. Deleting bookmarks doesn't work either. I know it's a zombie thread but did you figure out how to delete them?
