Help How do you end a call??

ebliever

Lurker
I've had my phone about a month and am still struggling with it. I'm having the problem where you have to take the battery out to reboot it. But another annoying problem is that I'm having a miserable time ending calls.

It seems simple enough in principle - the manual shows the Hang Up icon, and you just press it to end the call, right? Except that when I make a call the screen always goes dark (presumably so that my cheek isn't pressing buttons while I talk), and I can't get the dratted phone screen to come back on. Nor does the manual say what to do.

Pressing the screen and buttons randomly seems to cause the screen to come on for brief fractions of a second, long enough to see the Hang Up button but not long enough to press it and have it register. I end up jabbing at any/all buttons in frustration, mostly hitting the power button which does seem to kill the call eventually. But that can't possibly be the right way to do it. So what terribly obvious thing am I missing? (I am NOT a phone type person, though I am a techie in other areas (cryptocurrency mining, etc.). But even I have to make calls sometimes...)

Thanks for any info!

some phones provide call ending with power button (so in a call one short press of pwr btn will just hang it up). have this on my old lg e440 (4.1.2 stock) + current sgexpress2 (4.2.2 stock)

btw have you got your phone wet? if no, try to clear with soft cloth all the display and sensor area. try not to cover with fingers sensors above display - I always have this bug when put my finger there when calling (need to open menu etc) - the screen plays on and off.

I've never had this; when I pull the screen from my face, the kb re-appears and the end button is visible.
You might check the thread below on this forum re: tips/apps as it could be due to lack of calibration of the screen.

Valet screen "flashing"

catapp is right on with this solution...nearly everyone of us has had this problem and running this app will re-calibrate all the sensors so that your cheek will turn the screen back on so you can end your call.

Thanks everyone, I'll give this a try! (I don't think I've gotten the phone wet so this is more likely the issue.)

Hello everyone! I am having this same problem with my Valet phone. However, the link provided above no longer appears to be valid. Is this app no longer available? Is there a different one I can use?

Thanks!
