How do you make a ringtone app work?

Randychan

Lurker
I've downloaded a couple of ringtone apps. When the first one didn't work when I set the ringtones to my phone I thought it was just the apps problem but it keeps happening with other ringtone apps. I do as the app says and hold down on the ringtone I want and set as my ringtone...but it never works. What can I do to make these apps work?

What is easier is to use any MP3 you have as a ringtone. Or you can edit an existing sound to the exact sound you want and save it as an MP3.

Then you move the files to the following locations:
(It is better to have the folders on the phone and not the SD card (this way when you have your phone connected via USB to your computer you won't get the default sound because the SD card is mounted.)

- notifications
- ringtones
(with no SD card mine are located at: "/sdcard/notifications" and at: "/sdcard/ringtones"
