i cant belive them they are sooo appley with their prices and now with the 30$ data plan its imposible for me to afford!!!

i LOOOVE the DROID series phoens but i just cant affford :(

HOW DOES ANYONE AFFORD THESE THINGS?? OR EVEN ANY CARRIER THEY ARE ALL EXPENSIVE NOW ALL I CAN AFFORD IS PREPAID ANDROIDS

I should just kill myself i can have android in heaven

I can't afford it. My company pays for it, otherwise I would be on MetroPCS, and use the money I would on a phone bill on other necessities.

With Verizon (or AT&T for that matter), you're paying more for wider and more consistent coverage then you are with the prepaid folks. Metro, Boost, Virgin, etc.... are cheaper and a good alternative for entry/mid level phones. But their network performance just isn't normally as good, especially if you get outside of urban areas. It's a trade off and only you can decide what's the best value for you. At least you're smart enough to know what you can afford and can't - I know people who went for a "cool" phone and got in over their heads quickly trying to pay for the service each month!

I can afford it because work has an agreement with Verizon and I get 22% off my bill. When my contract is up, I will definitely reevaluate what is out there

39.99 voice
30.00 data
14% discount Bealls

$68 a month. Not bad. I have a job that doesnt pay alot but I can afford VZW.

$59.99 unlimited texts and 450 mins
$30 unlimited data
$8 insurance
%17 employee discount on voice plan only
$20 off data promo
I pay around $75 after tax. :-)

I am on an At&t family plan. 35 dollars a month total if I don't go over my 2 gigs of data. Which I usually do. So it is usually 45 total.

59.99 450 mins talk & unlimited text
30.00 2 gb data
6.99 insurance
6.59 taxes, surcharges, fees
103.57 total
ugh.

However, I'm not under contract. I bought my X2 with a clean number off of someone else. At first I had the phone working on Cricket, but I got tired of the maintenance and lower quality coverage. I'm just surprised that their insurance covers my phone since I didn't buy it off of them.

+1 Love that 22% corporate discount!
Bill still runs about $83 month...

Eh I don't get any discounts, but here goes:

139.96 Any mobile/1400 mins shared
29.99 a month x 3 for data plans
10 for 75mb on non smartphone
9.99x3 for additional lines
6.99x3 insurance
3.00x2 roadside assistance

adds up to ~278 a month split 4 ways

With the 1400 family plan you get 10 "friends & family" numbers with unlimited minutes, right?

no...i had an issue when i changed from my 700 min plan to 1400 min plan (added the 4th line) that resulted in ~$300 in overage charges. Ended up paying for it since it was supposedly my fault (not getting into that here) but since the rep (i guess) felt sorry for me, they upgraded my plan to some weird plan that according to them is only available in certain states and is NOT listed on the site...not sure what it is, but basically my minutes only get deducted from landline phones...i can call any mobile, regardless of network, free. I have confirmed emails from 3 different reps all stating that this is true, so /shrug all i know is i went from using 1200+ minutes a month to around 200

here's an attachment of my "my voice plan" (went to my verizon, clicked on the plan name link and copied/pasted relevant area)

Do you have 4 lines or 6? If I'm reading this right you are getting charged for 6 lines.

The $139.96 should be for 3 lines (Monthly line access charge for 3 lines), unlimited text, and 1400 shared minutes.

You say your being charged $9.99 X 3 for additional lines.
If I'm right you should only be charged for one additional line (The 3 in the $139 plan plus 1 additional for 4 lines).

Or am I misunderstanding the "Monthly line access charge for 3 lines".

From the Verizon website:
$89.98 for 1400 shared minutes on a Regular family plan
$29.97 for 3 additional lines ($9.99x3)
$20.00 for 5000 text (no unlimited)
$139.95 Total (look familiar)

And that for 4 lines. Your paying $139 + $9.99 for 4 lines on this current plan, plus the 2 lines you don't need. Sorry if I'm confusing anyone. It just looks wrong to me.

They do have unlimited messaging in the family plans, it's $30. I missed it before.

I was on prepaid before I got on my gf's family plan. I don't like to stay on my phone, hence the prepaid as I just didn't use it much. 10 bucks for an additional line, 30 for unlimited data, so 40 total. I offered to pay more to split the bill more but they won't accept.

By the way, I have a shit job and can barely pay my bills. Unfortunately verizon is the only carrier that has signal at my house, reliably.

It's worth it if you can get by on limited plans.

I'm single without a corporate discount (but they don't make me pay health insurance so it definitely makes up for it).

450 minutes and 500 texts is enough for me right now. My best friend has Verizon so we don't use each others minutes/texts.

So with that and unlimited data I pay $88 bucks a month total which I'm okay with.

I've had T-Mobile in 2 different states and yea it's cheaper, but definitely not worth it. Horrible signal. Verizon truly is the best service in the country from my experience and I'll pay the extra $$.

...Especially since I'm locked in unlimited LTE (for another 2 year contract at least)

In my area that's a joke. 3G is down more than up, have to use home's wifi to connect to internet.

$59.99 unlimited texts and 450 mins
$30 unlimited data

15% government employee discount

I pay around $75 after tax. :-)

Insurance comes out of my checking account automatically.

It helps to have a job to afford the luxuries in life. I'd have a basic phone if I couldn't afford the Android.

I pay less than $80/month with unlimited data, 500 anytime minutes (I don't talk much), and 500 texts. Works great for me.

1400 minute plan
Unlimited texting
Unlimited data

5 line family share - $10 data on each line
20% corporate discount on bill

Saves me a lot of money
