How do you quickly modify recent searches?

When you click in a search box and it lists all your recent searches, is there a way to select one and then modify it.

For example I searched for watermekkon...and then realized it was spelled wrong. Is there a way to select it, so the text pops up and ready for me to correct the two letters?

If I select it, it automatically begins searching for watermekkon again.

You can't change it as it is a history of what you recently searched for but if you type it out in full correctly the incorrect word will fall down the list.
