Help How do you remove short cuts?

I added a couple short cuts and then somehow a couple of them duplicated, so I wanted to delete some. I have gone into settings and think I have tried everything but cannot figure out how to remove a short cut I have added or somehow been duplicated by accident...want to keep my desktop clean.

If you referring to the desktop of the phone, hold your finger on the icon for a few seconds and it will be able to be moved once this happens drag it to the bottom of the screen the apps menu button doubles as a trash/recycle bin and just drop the shortcut in there....
