how do you stop the damn music from downloading

I have been trying to use googles default app for music since I got this phone, however it finally started sucking so bad that I am trying another player.

However, I still have some music set to download to my default Google music app. The thing is I cannot find anywhere that Google allows you to shut off the music being downloaded.
