How do you turn off the default messaging notifications?

I'm trying to find out how to turn off the default notifications for texts, as sometimes I cannot feel the two short vibrates on text received while in my pocket. I'm using SMS Notifier and I am able to change the duration of vibrations etc, however it is overlapping with the default one and showing two notifications in the notifications bar. Any ideas?

Go to the stock messenging app, and play around in menu > settings. Usually just a checkbox to turn the notifications on/off.

Well that's embarassing, i actually was overthinking it and went to running applications and tried to see it from there. Thanks bud
