How does 'Appremover' work?

Hi
I just installed 'Appremover'. But just can't understand how it works. It's icon is constantly showing on top bar and it's running automatically in the background and after some interval it displays how much space it has saved. Simply, don't get it.

Any help?

AppRemover is an app that lets you quickly and easily uninstall apps from your phone.

To get the icon off the notification bar, open AppRemover, hit you menu button, and make sure the "Show icon in notification" option is not checked off.
