I have a store person telling me once the page is open your data quits adding up till you open,a new one. I have a customer service person telling me if your looking at a page or pages even after the page is loaded the meter is still ticking.one of these people have to be wrong.does someone know how the data usage adds up please?

Depends on the page and the browser. For simple pages that have static content (like say a Wikipedia article), once you load all the content it's done. You won't download anything new. More complex pages, like news, sports, gaming sites, the the content will keep getting renewed (and you will have to download more data as time goes on). Most pages are like the first, but not all.

It also depends on how the browser works. So download the entire page at once, some only download the part of the page you're looking at. If you're using the later, you will use more data as you scroll down/through more of the webpage.

customer service explained it right, the guy in the store did not.if he would have explained it like the customer service person did i would have never bought the thing.(it was a jet pack)since he didnt explain how the data usage adds up correctly,it cost me 35 dollars for the restocking fee.would be nice if the employees knew how things work so when you ask questions you get the right answers.so it cost me 35 dollars to find out this guy didnt know what he was talking about.

As a consumer you should not rely on the words of sales people. Its their job to make you buy. Also, these restocking fees are ridiculous. Years ago there was no such thing on phones. You should be allowed to try a product without a penalty. The iPhone started this and now its everywhere.

If you try a phone and return it, they can't sell it as new. This is a significant loss for the company. I guarantee if you owned a business where accepting a return meant you lost half the value of the product, you'd consider a restocking fee or some other measure to discourage returns.
Although those fees should be waved in situations like the OP's (seeing as the csr either lied to him or told him wrong information).

So the fact some webpages continuously stream data while the webpage is viewable was the breaking point for you? Seriously?

no not at all,if i was told how it worked correctly i would have known it wasnt what i needed.not only did he mess that up but when the jetpack was returned he didnt cancel the number for the jetpack, that took 2 different customer service people to get that done right, then today i get 3 envelopes with letters from verizon thanking me for going to paperless billing.my wife is old fashioned and wants paper billing.guess who did that? the same guy!oh did i mention when i gut up this morning i checked my verizon app. and i found that i no longer have unlimited data package.my wife added a data package to her line which was a 2 gb.he was nice enough to give me the 2gb plan also.so back on the phone with customer service on the way to work to straighten that out. so the webpage thing was not my breaking point. there was a lot more to it than that, SERIOUSLY!
