How does it feel in your hand compared to a Note 3 and S5

i held my co-workers note 3 and my ONE in each hand and they both felt nice in the hand.

i have huge hands though so that might be why it didn't make much difference to me.

My OnePlus arrived Friday and I got it setup and have been using it today. It really is well done.

Compared to a Note 3, it is slightly narrower in width and slightly taller. The actual screen area is quite a bit less as I am using the on-screen buttons as the capacitive buttons are so dim you can't really see them.

The OnePlus has a slight roundness to the back (like the Moto X) so it does fit in your hand well. I have been rather impressed with it so far as the battery is better than the Note 3, most likely due to less things running in the background in CM as compared to TouchWiz.

Here are some pictures of the OnePlus with my other phones to give you an idea. There is an iPhone 4s, Samsung Galaxy S3, Nexus 5, Note 3 and OnePlus One.

Here's another pic of what to expect & compare to some other phones:

Sorry for the blurry cam,taken w/i-Phone 4s & not familiar w/it.

I've pared down since that pic was 1st posted (unexplained technical difficulties, threw in the towel after fighting w/it for a day & a half).

I now have two phones,the 1+1 & HTC ONE M8.

Sold the LG OPTIMUS G PRO & G-FLEX,returned the LG G3.

If you had to choose just one, would you keep the 1+1 or the M8?

Your thoughts on these two would be appreciated.

Thanks :)

I'd keep the 1+1.
The overall screen real estate trumps any advantages the M8 may have for my preferences/needs.

Most other performance features are a wash,w/the advantages going to one phone or the other, but, not by enough to say one is significantly better over the other.

For those that absolutely need the extra storage that the M8 provides, the M8 is for you,if you can trade-off w/the smaller screen size.

The on-board storage on the 1+1 is sufficient for me.The I/R Blaster that the M8 has is a feature that is near the top on my list, however,I've found myself using various WI-FI remote apps, including GOOGLE Remote,so,that kinda evens things up in that dept.

As soon as I saw your question zipred,I already had my answer, didn't even have to think about it.

The 1+1 does everything well. The displays are of equal quality, however, the additional real estate wins out.

You returned the g3;why?what do you prefer on the 1+1 over the g3?

The display,BY A MILE,& to a lesser extent,having capacitive buttons:

If you peruse the G3 forum, this is not the prevailing opinion.

However,in my personal use & side-by-side comparison,the 1+1 display is much better.YMMV.

One area the 1+1 has the G3 beat,w/o a biased doubt is smoothness of operation.

A slight bit of lag is not a big deal to me,provided it doesn't result in the screen freezing up/force-closing of apps/spontaneous rebooting.

I witnessed none of the above w/the G3,but,as far as smoothness of operation/transitioning between screens/applications,the 1+1 wins this walking away.

I've pared down from five phones to two just within the past few days & am seriously considering selling the M8 once the pixie dust settles & the honeymoon is over.

I've used the 1+1 exclusively since getting it a week ago, only picking up the M8 to tweak the VIPER ROM & XPOSED Module settings,so,it's very possible the 1+1 will be THE ONE for the foreseeable future.

Great info, thank you. Are you in the USA? I see that you're on AT&T just as I am. Does 4G or LTE appear on the screen for your network? Is it just a simple SIM swap or do I need to contact AT&T in order to move from my GS4 GPE to the 1+1?

I'm primarily a T-MO subscriber, just recently picked up an AT&T GO SIM Card & activated to get an update pushed from AT&T to a phone I had briefly (AT&T LG OPTIMUS G PRO,which,BTW,works flawlessly on T-MOBILE's LTE network as well).

The (US) 1+1 has a menu to choose which network you wish to use:

SETTINGS > MOBILE NETWORKS > NETWORK OPERATORS > & then select either SEARCH NETWORKS (manual), or CHOOSE AUTOMATICALLY.If using the latter, the phone will read/sense which carrier SIM Card you're using & select automatically.

EDIT:

Also,an even better way to select for the fastest network available for your AT&T SIM Card is go to SETTINGS > MOBILE NETWORKS > ACCESS POINT NAMES & Select ATT PHONE,which should be the 5th selection from the top,if you have an AT&T SIM Card installed.

Only AT&T & the affiliated MVNO's will be present in this menu when an AT&T SIM Card is installed (AT&T Straight Talk,etc....).

On the T-MOBILE SIM Card, selecting this menu will display the T-MOBILE & associated MVNO's in one's area (METRO PCS/SIMPLE MOBILE,etc...).

On stock settings,4G is all that appears (changeable w/settings/theming,if desired),however,if you go to SETTINGS > ABOUT PHONE > STATUS > Mobile network type LTE will be displayed if present in your area.

As for swapping from the GS4 to the 1+1,all that's required to get service started is swapping out the SIM Card & you're off & running w/o any assistance from AT&T.

However,if you want to transfer contacts/media/messages,or any/all of the data on the GS4,drop by AT&T & let them assist you, unless you'd prefer to do it yourself.

KOLIO...

You're posts speak volumes, and have me even more interested in the OPO. That you find its display your favorite over the G3 is an opinion I can easily understand and most probably agree with.

Although my G3's smoothness is quite good, reading the OPO being better is extremely compelling.

Finally most telling of all, and a rousing endorsement of the OPO, is that you've reduced a nice selection of phones down to the likelihood of using just a single model. Even if only for a short period of time, putting ones eggs all in one basket indicates that's one dandy smartphone.

I think I'll abandon OP forum profile that's failed to attract an invite and start fresh. I've got to try one of these interesting phones.

Thanks for the informative posts... :D

I will most likely have a 2nd phone,most of the time,as a back-up/etc.......
If the M8 had more screen real estate,I wouldn't even consider selling & looking for another to take its place.

However, having a device w/a 5.5" display as a daily driver makes it difficult to go back to anything smaller.

The M8 is one fine phone, definitely in the discussion of BEST of 2014.
Believe me,I was taken by surprise in getting an invite so early,I had an eye on the distant future as for having the 1+1.
Ask me three weeks ago if I was set as far as phones go,for 2014 & I would have said yes,w/the G3 & M8 as long-term keepers.
After I got the G3 & 1+1,within two days of each other,I was all but certain that the M8 was the odd-man out.
Once the 1+1 arrived, the G3 was on the outside looking in.
It's the display,don't mean to harp/whistle a one-note tune,but,for myself,the G3 just isn't as crisp/clean as the M8 or 1+1.

The 1+1 is a keeper,w/an eye on the future,in an M8 PRIME/M9 sporting a 5.5" display.......

Our preferences are so similar. If I had to choose one feature as my favorite it's having a large display.

My Note 3 is good with one exception and that's the mechanical home button. It really slows me down.

I guess I'll see how the buttons are on the OPO, I do really like the Nexus 5 buttons. Fast and easy to use they're my current favorite.

I had the NOTE3 long enough to appreciate the display quality,it is still one of the best available.
