Is it by screen size, brand, specs?
Because I find it weird for example. The lg motion is 150 while like the esteem, connect, lightray, coolpad have less specs but more expensive?

The motion is more likely then not at least somewhat subsidized.

As for how they price its all about what the phone costs them to buy from the manufacturer and how much of a profit margin they want off the phones. It doesn't really matter about a phone's specs really.

Like most companies they price it on how much they paid to buy it & the average amount someone is willing to pay for something like that. You know they do surveys with very broad questions about what kind of phone you would like they offer & the price you would be willing to pay for it

And build quality as well as value prize with relation it promotion , reputation and hype...

well ya close but keep in mind metro pcs make deals with samsung lg and other phone makers and buy them custom made for metro by quantities. so lets say metro bought 20 million samsung galaxy s3 for 40-50 million dollars they have to sell them to make a profit out of that. not exact price range but just giving ya an idea how it works more or less.

Most of you arr right, also there might be a tipping point at which (for example) they sold enough S3's so they can affort prices to go down.
