How does the LG F6 compare to the LG Motion ?

I have an LG Motion on MetroPCS and it's been working fine, but the screen is damaged. To replace this Motion is $100, and the LG F6 is $200.

Has anyone here tried both of these models ? If so please compare and contrast them so a decision can be made between these two models.

The F6 on MetroPCS has much less internal memory compared to the Motion. Can this really be overcome by using an SD card and still get the same performance as if the memory were internal ? Can the same SD card be used for backing up the data while it also has the apps and other data which would normally reside in the internal memory ? Or does one replace the SD card when doing a backup, such as with Super Backup app ?

How's the call quality, speakerphone, and camera on the F6 ? Does one get better reception and/or a wider coverage area because the F6 is GSM ?

Trying to decide between replacing the Motion with a new Motion or another model.

Thank you.

For future proofing purposes i think the f6 is the way to go or if you are bold you could get a very good phone unlocked around same prices since gsm

I would also recommend the LG F6 over the LG Motion. All and all a better phone.

A SD card for storage will work fine, especially for your files.

F6 is the same phone as F3 just will bigger screen. F3 has a little bigger screen than LG motion but thinner and same size all around. Batter life is amazing I get at least 6 hours of screen time on it. If you do not mind almost the same screen as LG motion, I would say save some money and get F3. Keep in mind that both F3 and F6 have storage issues. It's very limited, around 1gb.

Now that I've about convinced myself that LTE isn't so important, I'd be inclined to get a Swapa Nexus 4 for around $240, just $40 more than a F6.

IF and when I do that, I'm calling both Metro and LG and telling them a main reason was the paltry amount of internal storage on the F3/6.

I'd get updates faster and the Nexus STOMPS on the F6 for $40 difference. Even with the 8G model there's no worry about storage. For about $270 you can still get the 16G N4.

Like how metro took spectrum from CDMA and set it for LTE as more people got LTE capable phones that's what tmobile will start doing, cutting HSPA+42 to HSPA+21 and then moving that 10mhz over to LTE

Why I wouldn't take a HSPA only phone now

That so far as I know is only a GUESS on your part.

You make it sound like IF they do that, they'll make HSPA +21 almost unusable. ("Why I wouldn't take a HSPA only phone now"...) That would just totally PO all those that got the new GSM non-LTE phones.

There's been no more major news from T-Metro about More NEW LTE areas. We here in Ocala with a great CDMA signal are still 35 miles from Gainesville with GSM LTE. I think in a year there will still be PLENTY of areas that don't have GSM LTE.

It's not specifically stated but they will be cutting +42 down if they want to reach the goal of 10x10MHz and above in most markets by the end of 2013 and 20x20mhz by the end of 2014.
**In the markets that had metro they won't need to cut this year but to get to 15x15 and 20x20 they will need some from HSPA
I wasn't saying it was unusable but it won't be on par with LTE in speed anymore but I also know in some markets(like south fl) they can do +42 on PCS

Do you by any chance know if Ocala has HSPA on PCS?

We should, we were a T-Mo area before the merger. By the last list though, we Aren't due for T-Mo LTE. We have of course, Metro LTE. I went to two different Auth Dealers a couple weeks ago and couldn't find a Meto phone in them hooked up to GSM. (Eedeeits)

My point was, for the sake of discussion, if HSPA+whatever Everyone gets is say 12 M-ish and LTE is 20+ who cares.

12 Mps is already more than anyone NEEDS to accomplish all phone related tasks.
