How does this nexus 7 case do this??

Ok, so i ordered this http://http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/sd-tabletwear-luxfolio-case-for-google-nexus-7-black-p35733.htm

I noticed when I open up the case with the nexus 7 in it, the screen turns on, and when i close it, the screen turns off.

Any ideas how this is possible? is this normal with cases these days and i'm late to the party? Doesn't say anything about this feature in the description.

There's a magnetic sensor in the tablet. A discreet magnet in the case and voila. The Nexus is designed with that in mind.
