How does this site work

Hello there, just joined and typed "maps" into the search box and got... well, I don't know what I got - nothing to do with the Google Maps app, as far as I can see!

Anyway if anyone can help with my problem... there's a facility to download and save portions of maps that you can use offline, but my tablet doesn't seem to be able to do do that!

Tablet is noname chinatab MID, with ICS, don't know what more info is needed, just ask

Probably the best place to discuss this would be the Android Applications forum, in the Android Discussion section.

For my guess at the answer, what version of Maps do you have? In the Maps app go to settings -> about and it will tell you. The most recent versions (I have 6.10, but it was available a version or two before that) let you store easily using "menu -> make available offline" when looking at a map, so if that option isn't there you probably have an older version. You should be able to update via the Play Store.
