How does TMobile manage to hold LG hostage on the unlockable bootloader?

I seems the G5 has an unlockable bootloader on TMobile too. Anyone have any idea how TMobile is successful in forcing LG to do this? How many tons of V10s and G4s are locked down solely because they are not on TMobile? I read some crappy article from 2014 that LG was gonna put up a HTC type site to unlock all their bootloaders. Guess the money talks, but TMobile isn't providing the best cell service at the most competitive prices, so how is it they own LG?

It doesn't have anything to do with LG at all! I believe by default LG leaves a way to unlock the bootloader, but when a carrier (like boost, mpcs, verizon, virgin, tmobile, etc) buys the phone from LG they can choose whether or not to let the user or purchaser unlock it.

adb reboot bootloader
fastboot oem unlock

Works for the Lg G Stylo 6.0 T-Mobile variant.

And here is the supposed commands for most LG phones, I haven't tested this method.

"Please follow below directions to unlock bootloader.

1. Turn on the phone with SIM card, and wait for connection to the real network.

2. Wait for couple of hours.

3. Connect your handset to local PC with USB cable.

4. Enter "adb reboot oem-unlock" in DOS command window.

5. Reboot handset and you can see the bootloader unlock guide on your phone.

6-1. If you press volume up key, handset is bootloader unlock status.

You can download custom image using fastboot command.

6-2 If you press power on key, user doesnot accept unlock bootlaoder and handset normally power on."
Thanks to laufersteppenwolf over at xda for this tidbit.
