How easy to pro-rate the Hotspot function?

I still have my unlimited data-woo-but I'm probably going to get a tablet soon. Now, I've been told that the hotspot function is 30 a month, but I've also been told that its prorated at 1 buck a day, so you can turn the function in your plan on and off at will. How well does that work?

Very well for me in the past. Turned it on and off online whenever necessary.

I believe you can activate/deactivate through the My Verizon app on your phone too.

Really. Well, that could be handy. I'm just wondering how well its worked for people to use it practically a day at a time, and whether or not the system gets fussy if you turn the function off in billing and then on again randomly. If its no problem, good to know. But if you have to do this a lot, I dont want to get a email telling me I have to use it straight for 30 days and as such pay 30 odd bucks.

When I had unlimited data, I would turn tethering on and off as needed, and was always billed per diem. You should be good to go.
