How else does my Android device get contact suggestions?

I recently got a contact suggestion for somebody who is not a contact for any of my email accounts, or in my phone. And I do not have any social media accounts like Facebook-How on earth did my phone find this persons yahoo account, and even know that I know them?

I have "googled" the person in the past, so can google/htc pick up their contact info this way??

Yes it's Google. At some point the person's info was in a Google email, or some other data connected to Google.
