How is Sprint's Coverage in Las Vegas

Hello everyone! This is my first post here. I'm a long time Android Fan. Heck, I've had my G1 since it came out in 2008. However, its now time to upgrade and there are some great new phones coming out. So far I've found that Sprint offers great price for the plans they offer. Plus, the EVO 3D is a fantastic device! It is a dual core monster!

However, here's the dilemma I'm having. I've done some research, and it looks like Sprint has terrible coverage in Las Vegas, NV. Are there any Sprint customers out there who are from Las Vegas? I don't care much for the strip area, but rather the rest of the valley. I currently have great reception with T-Mobile, however I don't want to be a part of AT&T, plus Sprint is offering great deals with great devices. But if the reception is as poor as it looks like, then none of it is worth it.

According to cellreception.com, here are the average ratings of the large carriers in the Las Vegas Valley:

1. T-Mobile: 3.23
2. AT&T: 2.26
3. Verizon: 1.98
4. Nextel: 1.5
5. Sprint: 1.23

Anyone care to comment? Are these websites true?

Thanks...

First, I wouldn't put much stock into that cellreception.com site. Sprints own coverage map would be a good start. EDIT: You've got the right idea about asking actual customers with experience in the area.. always the way to find out.

I have never lived in Vegas, however I am a flight instructor in Phoenix, and I do a lot of training flights with my students into the Vegas area; usually we fly into North Las Vegas, Henderson, or McCarran and then go into town for breakfast or lunch. I've never had any trouble from Sprint in the Vegas area. I also visit the strip once a year or so, and driving in and out, Sprint coverage is good the whole way. And lucky for you, It looks like Sprints 4g is pretty well covered in Vegas, although I haven't used it much. You got 30 days to decide for free. :)

Edit 2: Welcome to the Boards! :)

I had my phone in Vegas twice(aug 10, feb 11) since i got it, it was fine, no worse than Verizon which i used to have, and in some spots notorius for "no bars" for me, i was able to make/receive calls with my Sprint EVO.

I only know of the strip, off strip i cannot comment. and most of that is inside the casinos...

Certainly from my rooms (venetian and luxor respective trips) i had no prob, and streamed radio over Tune-in and pandora via 3G without a skip.

hope this helps.

Vegas is fine. No real issues with dropped calls. Been here 10 years & never had a problem. 4g is kinda slow/spotty at times, but it is here at least. My friends all have different carriers, and they don't have any better coverage than sprint.
